Glossary
Low-code platform
Also called Low-code.
Definition
A low-code platform lets people build applications and workflows mostly through visual tools and configuration, adding code only where needed.
Why it matters when you’re buying
It can clear backlogs of internal apps and put building in the hands of business teams. Without governance it can also create apps nobody supports and data nobody owns, so plan ownership, security review and retirement from the start.
How it relates to other terms
Low-code platforms often include RPA, and they are a common way to extend an ERP without customising it.
