Glossary
GitOps
Definition
GitOps is an operating model where the desired state of systems is declared in a Git repository and automated agents keep running environments in line with it.
Why it matters when you’re buying
Every change goes through a reviewed commit, which gives an audit trail, simple rollback and fewer changes by hand. It works best where teams already treat configuration as code.
How it relates to other terms
CI builds and tests the change, GitOps applies it. It builds on infrastructure as code and is most common with Kubernetes.
