Glossary
Cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP)
Also called CNAPP.
Definition
A CNAPP combines cloud security posture management, workload protection, permission analysis and code or image scanning in a single platform.
Why it matters when you’re buying
It gives one view of cloud risk from code to run time and helps rank issues by what is actually exposed. Compare coverage of your clouds and services, how noisy the findings are and how fixes reach the teams who own them.
How it relates to other terms
A CNAPP covers the customer’s side of the shared responsibility model, scans container images and often uses SBOM data.
